Solar maintenance & health checks
A practical check of the parts that age first: isolators, visible cabling, inverter status and generation meter. Aimed at older FiT-era systems as well as newer installs.
What we check on site
Inverter status and any logged fault codes, DC/AC isolator condition, visible DC string cabling and connectors, generation meter operation, and basic safety observations.
Panel cleaning is only quoted where it is safe and useful; we do not promise production gains we cannot measure.
- ✓ Inverter and error-log review
- ✓ Isolator and visible connector inspection
- ✓ Generation meter check (important for FiT payments)
- ✓ Clear written notes on what should be replaced soon
Our process
Book a visit with system age and inverter brand if known.
On-site inspection and measurements where appropriate.
Plain-English report of findings and options (monitor / replace / retrofit).
If replacement is needed, we quote using our inverter replacement service.
Indicative pricing factors
Health-check pricing depends on system size and access. Once work beyond a check is needed, a standard inverter replacement is £900, supplied and fitted.
Service area
Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Quick answers
How often should I have a solar system checked?
For systems over eight years old, a periodic health check is sensible — especially before adding a battery or after repeated inverter faults.
Is this the same as a fault-finding visit?
A maintenance check is proactive. If the system is already down with a fault code, use our solar faults guide and inverter replacement page instead.
