How much does a replacement inverter cost?
A standard replacement inverter costs £900, supplied and fitted, across Birmingham and the West Midlands. Send us a photo of your current inverter and we will confirm the right replacement before any work starts.
What does the £900 include?
The inverter, fitting, the manufacturer’s warranty (5 to 10 years depending on brand), instructions, and a certificate to say it’s been done. There’s no new DNO notification because the system is already registered. We only fit mainstream brands with UK customer support, such as Growatt, SolaX, Solis, Fox ESS, Sigenergy and Huawei. We never fit unbranded units.
Can you fix an inverter another company fitted, or one whose installer went bust?
Yes, we do this often. Many of those companies have closed, and the original work is often poor.
Will a new inverter work with my old panels and feed-in tariff?
Yes, and your feed-in tariff stays the same. You need to tell your energy supplier about the change. We help by sending them a photo of the fault code or a letter from us, and we guide you through it.
How long am I without solar?
About half a day.
Is it worth repairing an old inverter?
Usually not. Parts are hard to find because many makers have gone bust, and old units are out of warranty anyway. Opening one up to fit retrofit parts or solder old circuit boards also causes insurance problems. In 2026 every repair has to be accounted for, so if something went wrong later it would be an insurance minefield. A new inverter is the safe, insured choice.

Solarfixx does not hold MCS certification itself. MCS-certified installations are carried out in partnership with Greenwatt Energy.
